Everyone Wants Data!

At some point, we all realize that data is not a byproduct of computers and code but rather a valuable resource intertwined with how we think, communicate, and make decisions. Given that data needs of various industries can differ significantly, how does Visier plan to cater to these diverse requirements? How do you anticipate and stay ahead of changes in the types of data-driven insights that organizations need?

Thanks so much for the question!

To your point, every industry has different data [and regulations] that uniquely drive their most valuable analytics. In most cases, the WHAT is the same (maximizing YIELD, whatever YIELD is for that industry - The Goal (novel) - Wikipedia, and The Goal by Goldratt describes the Theory of Constraints really well to think about what to measure and why), but the HOW is very different.

In recent conversations, I’m getting more and more requests for, “Visier, we need more data for our industry and segment to maximize the impact of our people.”

Indeed, this was a key driver of the new Visier People Extend, which allows customers of Visier People to ingest, model, and consume additional data from across the enterprise. Healthcare customers have shared they want to maximize YIELD in their hospitals, and they’re pulling in EPIC data, for example, to look at Scheduling and Compensation in order to increase the number of procedures that can be safely performed. If they cannot operate at full staff, then assets sit unused, and profit diminishes (even non-profits need to worry about this).

Conversely, in Retail, we see customers pulling in Sales data, engagement data, and training data, to optimize the team composition on a shift (so that the employees support each other) and maximize YIELD (in this case, same store sales). They even analyze the impact of subjecting their employees to training on YIELD, in order to minimize training that doesn’t increase sales.

In the quarters and years to come, you’ll see more “landing zones” for this disparate data, and best practices on the joins, so that our customers can tailor for industry and segment and get maximum value from Visier.
