Hi!
I’ve been thinking about how startups of less than ~50 people can take advantage of people data. It’s easy to think about how companies at a larger scale can identify trends and use the data to make decisions, but how do you think about the smaller end of the spectrum, the smaller end of the scale? Are there non-obvious ways that smaller teams can learn from people data to help them grow/evolve/improve? Or is this kind of “creating” a problem and solution that isn’t necessary?
Thanks so much for the question!
Of our 50,000 customers, many are SMBs, not just large global enterprises. Indeed, many are <50ee.
What benefits do they get? For companies between 20-50 employees, they benefit from. Here are a couple of examples.
- Salary benchmarks - are they compensating to market, or exposing themselves to attrition risk?
- Attrition predictions - our predictors allow you to modify the weights, and result in you understanding if top talent is at risk of leaving for a variety of factors (pay, engagement, dwell time, etc.)
- Equity - not stock, b/c not all these companies are software start ups, but when we have multiple people in similar roles, are we paying them equitably. Realizing that Bob and Mary are both at the same Sr. Mgr level, but that Mary makes $25,000 more, should prompt their manager to confirm, “yup, she crushes him on seniority and performance rating” or “whoops, I’d better give Bob a raise, if Mary says something I’m sunk.”
Where I’m most interested to take our solutions for small companies is to combine their People data with their Business data. Imagine you are Mary, and you own Mary’s plumbing. Imagine you purchased Paychex for payroll/hr, and you got Visier embedded in that solution [it’s in there, they’re a great partner]. Now imagine that in partnership with Paychex Visier offers you, Mary, the CEO Coach. Working on patent applications for some of our ideas here, but suffice it to say that we will look to make recommendations that could transform Mary’s Plumbing from a Yield perspective (Growth and Margin). Mary couldn’t normally afford a coach like this, but with AI and benchmark data for 1000s of small companies just like Mary’s Plumbing, Paychex and Visier could offer immense value.
Hope this helps!
